Day-09-Bernkastel
Thursday - Bernkastel & Luxemburg
Tied up during the night.
Went on a bus trip to Luxemburg. Was very interesting. The only real industry is money. The new part of the city is steel and glass and all financial institutions and their helpers. The old city is still conservative and well preserved. It has proper, discreet 'Olde' banks. Saw all the appropriate things. From one city to the next they are all much the same to my untrained eye. I went for a walk around Bernkastel, had a look at the wine museum and
the town. That evening we dined on board at 'Portabello's', for a fine dining experience. The meal wasn't bad. We were travelling on an Australian owned ship, with an eastern european crew, in the middle of the Moselle valley, eating at a pseudo italian restaurant, drinking cheap italian bombo.
How cosmopolitan is that. Sailed about 5:00PM.
