Day-15-Bern-Interlaken
18 April 19th - Friday - Interlaken - Lucerne
Drizzly rain, top temp 11c.
We were really lucky yesterday. Low cloud and rain all day today. Boarded our bus at 9:30 and moved off for the fairly short drive to Lucerne, but we had to kill five and a half hours until we could check in to our hotel. Stopped and looked at a couple of places and came over the Brunig Pass. Stopped at Brienz. Had the mandatory walk around the old town in Lucerne and over the historic medieval Chapel Bridge. Visited another magnificent church.
Finally found a coffee shop out of the rain where we could stay dry before checking in to the Palace hotel. Magnificent old hotel on the water's edge. Our bedroom even has a chandelier and the bathroom a bidet. Entrance to reception via a 40m red carpeted hall, with appropriate gold trimmings. Trying to find out if Domino's deliver here for tea.
