Day-18-Zurich

April 20th - Saturday - Lucerne - Zurich
The rain stopped overnight. It's now snowing, temp 4c.
Beautiful light snow flakes drifting down and about an inch of snow covering everything. Very pretty to look out at. Had a special omlette for breakfast. Excellent service at the hotel. Found our bus and headed off for Zurich. The countryside looked like Christmas card pictures. So completely different from yesterday, really, really beautiful. Stopped at the Lindt chocolate factory and finished up with a 2.5kg bag and other bits. Had a drive around Zurich and then a walk through some of the old town, including the remains of the Roman baths. The town has been here for quite a while, even longer than the towns in Tasmania! Had a look inside a magnificent church with stunning domed ceiling and stained glass windows. Doesn't look it's best in drizzly rain, but a lovely city. The old buildings and little cobblestoned streets are a little different to what we are used to. Have decided to give Lichtenstein a miss tomorrow. Mem had a bad night and so we will have a day off and just join up with our other tour in the afternoon.
