Day-24-Lucerne
April 26th - Friday - Lucerne
Day fine and cloudy.
Left Geneva and trained to Montreaux. Changed to a 'Golden Pass' panorama car train. Trained along up some very pretty valleys and saw grass and some very expensive swiss cows. Found a Swiss Air Force base on a small strip of flat ground in a valley with cows grazing around it. Very low key. Cruised along lake Thun. Stepped out at Interlaken for lunch and a break. New train and headed on. Changed engines, went to a cog drive one to climb up to the Brunig pass. Well up into snow country. Down again and on to Lucerne. When we arrived we hopped on a boat and did a cruise around part of Lake Lucerne. Some very expensive property around the lake. Started to rain as we were getting off the boat. Back to our hotel. Quite small but conveniently located to the railway station and city centre. We were tired, so collected takeaway tea and to bed by 9PM, with the balcony door open.
